How to Make Your 40s the F-ing Best Time of Your Life (so far)

How to make your 40s the F-ing best time of your life - Written by Kena Paranjape, Founder, All You Are

This is a special note to those of you approaching 40, currently in your 40s, and even those beyond.

I want you to know, your next years can and should be your best years.

There is so much here for you in this stage of life...

But get ready for a ride 😅

It will be beautiful, I promise.

Here are some tips to ease the bumps:

1. Reconnect to Your Inner Voice. Now is the time to make time for quiet and tune into your inner voice. What does she want? What is no longer working for her? What does she need?

Listen and honour what comes up.

2. Reflect on What You’ve Learned. As Carl Jung says, “Up until now, you’ve just been doing research.” Reflect on your story so far. Record the hard-earned lessons you’ve learned.

Consider who you’ve become.

3. Say YES to What Lights You Up! You’ve followed the path you were advised to follow. You’ve checked the boxes. Now is the time to pursue your curiosities, passions, and whims. Say yes to things that excite you and bring you joy without expecting a result.

You never know where it may lead you...

4. Set Your Sights On Who You Want to Become. Up until this point, life has shaped you. Leverage your years of experience and wisdom to decide who you want to become. Visualize yourself in 10, 20, 30 years. What kind of woman do you want to be?

You can CREATE the next version of you.

5. Protect Your Energy. We women are givers. We give our time, resources & energy until we feel there is almost nothing left. To thrive in this next stage of life, protect your energy. Be ruthless with your calendar. Continuously ask yourself, do I have to say yes to this? Do I want to?

Your energy is your vitality. Protect it at all costs.

6. Develop a Spiritual Practice. Regardless of your specific beliefs, we can all agree that we come from a divine source. Create a pocket of space in our overly materialistic world for a personal spiritual practice. It could be meditating, walking in nature, journalling, studying inspiring books, or admiring art.

Connect to your inner goddess.

7. Find Your Inner Circle. By now, we have friends we’ve collected along our journey. Honour those friendships for what they have brought to your life. But now, intentionally seek out those who are walking along a similar path. They might not know you the way old friends do, but they see where you are headed and believe in that path for you.

Seek out your kindred spirits.

Your 40s can be one of the most rapid growth periods of your life.

It can be challenging.

It can be difficult.

It can bring you to your knees.

But it is also breathtakingly beautiful. It is your becoming.

Embrace it all.

With love,

Kena ❤️
