Choose To Make Magic

Choose to make magic- Kena Paranjape, Founder, All You Are

Last week I spent an amazing week in Miami with family. On the way back, on the way to the airport from the hotel, we received a text message that our flight was delayed. It was only by two hours, so we decided to continue.

Well, the text messages kept coming and the before we knew it our flight was delayed by over eight hours with a chance it could be cancelled completely!

I tried so hard in the moment to remember what I teach in my programs about how to deal with challenging situations - CLA.

C - Change it

L - Leave it

A - Accept it

In any given situation, these are ultimately our only good choices. The other alternative (which is never a good one), is R - resist, resist, resist!

I did my best to change it (my sister and I stood for two hours in a line just to talk to someone at Air Canada), I could not leave it as I was speaking at an event the next day that I just couldn't miss! So I was really only left with acceptance...except I didn't want to. 😅

Sometimes acceptance is HARD.

We hang on so tight to thoughts like, why is this happening to us, it's not fair, but I have an event to get to, and so on and so on.

But I've learned that knowing that acceptance is where you want to be is enough to eventually get you there.

I started telling myself the phrases that I teach in my programs and study every day:

✨ Everything is always working out for me
✨ Trust the process (sometimes things are happening behind the scenes that we can't see)
✨ How can we make the most of this?

Those gentle reminders combined with being stuck with my sister, niece and my daughter Nova meant it really wasn't so bad. Even the girls (ages 4 & 7) somehow understood that there was nothing we could do and settled in nicely.

Luckily, we did make it out on the last flight and I was up and ready the next morning to deliver my talk.

Whenever you're in a challenging situation, remind yourself that you ultimately have three choices of how to approach it. Direct your energy to one of the three and you'll navigate the situation with much more ease.

Finally on our flight!

Nova and I got these matching bracelets the day before we left Miami which served as yet another reminder.

We can't always control what happens but we can choose how to experience what happens.

We can choose to make magic ✨
